# Check-ins & tags

> Choose metrics and labels that fit how you track.

## Check-in metrics

Beyond the mood scale (Rough → Great), you can enable optional metrics such as:

Energy, Pain, Sleep, Stress, Focus, Anxiety, Motivation, Social, Appetite

Turn metrics on or off in **Settings → Check ins**. Fewer metrics often feel calmer.

## Tags

**Tags** are labels you attach to check-ins or entries so you can find themes later.

1. Open **Settings → Tags** (or add a tag while checking in / writing).
2. Create tags that match your life — keep names short.
3. Apply them when they help; skip them when they do not.

Tags are for you. They are not shared publicly.
